Sesame is the most friendly donut shop I have been in, and the same can be said for all locations. I have had much better luck at the scholls ferry location. It seems like this place provides a nice experience for regulars, but not for the casual stop in. Once I was told I should call ahead so I didnt wipe them out, another I was served no problem, and yet another was asked to wait mid order so that a number of smaller orders could go through. Ive come on multiple occasions to purchase 2 to 3 dozen for teams at work and had very different experiences each time. The donuts are good here and there is a nice variety, but the service leaves quite a bit to be desired. I am not sure what made the cashier so kurt and short with me.

The bagel Iordered wasnt warmed through and my doughnut wasnt that great either. When I asked her to repeat it she said she didnt have all day and started to talk to the person in line behind me.

But she said it quickly before Id even grabbed my phone. She complained that it was too long to tell me so I told her Id put it in my phone.
Sesame donuts password#
After ordering I asked for the wifi password but the cashier said she didnt have a pen. Im new in the neighborhood and stopped in for some wifi and a quick bite. Plus, they are WAY less expensive that those shops. They are my favorite in the Northwest, and that includes amongst the famous Portland and Seattle shops that everyone from out of town goes out of their way to visit when they are in the area. The owner was always really great with my younger cousin when she was little and ten years later shes still a loyal customer. The staff at Sesame got to know us and was always super friendly. My carpool would take turns buying donuts every Friday to share with our co-workers. I worked at a bookstore in Beaverton and commuted right past Sesame for a year or so. Ive been coming here since I was four years old and likely will no longer return since the customer service has taken such a sudden and unexpected dive. I wont deny the donuts here are VERY good (as are the muffins) but it seems like a shift in management has taken place and it is NOT for the better. The people he ignored had told me that theyd been waiting "a long time". During the most recent incident I watched a guy walk out of the back, get something off the counter and completely ignore the two people who had been standing in line before us before walking back into the kitchen. Im not entirely sure whats going on here but the last two times I went to Sesame Donuts, I wound up walking out because nobody could be bothered to help me. Customer service 101 come on people and roll tide. I politely said I do and thank you for the doughnuts. I felt like that is something you do not say to customers, it is rude and indicates the employee thinks you are too poor to buy three doughnuts. Patience could have helped in this situation because every customer does not like feeling rushed or unimportant.

The reason why is because she told me it was okay if I did not have the money for all the doughnuts.

Sesame donuts full#
In the mean time, with customers waiting behind me the girl behind the counter, maybe assumed I did not have the full amount of money for my purchase for what ever reason. It took me about 30 seconds to get the whopping three dollars out of my pocket for my order. I went there last time with three dollars in quarters knowing I was going to buy three doughnuts. Doughnuts are great but service could be better.
